Save nature. Pay less tax.
We use your donations to reduce greenhouse gas.
WHAT
Our planet needs nature. Now, nature needs us.
As a 501c3, we pool tax-deductible donations from people, foundations, family offices, and donor advised funds, and make strategic investments in high-quality carbon projects. These projects save crucial natural ecosystems, repair damage, and protect against future harm. We receive credits & offsets, which we hold in trust in your name.
Climate scientists agree: The best technology available now (or in the future) to stabilize the climate has already been through billions of years of R&D, production, and global distribution. Nature.
While human technological advancement (carbon capture, cloud seeding, etc.) will undoubtedly play a role in our efforts to mitigate global warming and resultant climate change, nature is (and will always be) the first, best, and cheapest solution.
People destroy nature for money. For many, it's not their fault: They are providing subsistence-level food, housing, materials, or money for themselves and their family.
Carbon markets are a way to reward these people for making another choice, so that they don't have to choose between protecting nature and survival in the short-term. Because nature is the key to our survival in the long-term.
We need policy change, political activism, personal consciousness, corporate support, philanthropy—we need it all.
Cedar Grove Foundation enables regular people to donate money to the best carbon projects on the planet.
Tax-Deductible
As a 501(c)(3), donations are tax-deductible, and you'll receive a tax-compliant receipt via email.
Transparent
We only partner with projects that have best-in-class measurement, reporting, and verification standards. We are transparent.
Straightforward
If you want to go down the rabbit hole of climate & carbon science, we're here for you (see Research and Reading, below). For everyone else, we keep things straightforward.
HOW
We pool small donations together in order to write big checks into enterprise-scale carbon projects.
Projects receiving grants must demonstrate real impact, as measured by strict criteria and expert review.
ADDITIONAL
Carbon is removed as a result of the donation, and wouldn't otherwise have happened.
VERIFIABLE
Providers have scientifically rigorous, transparent reporting on the amount of carbon removed as a result of the purchase.
VALIDATED
Leading climate experts have published research on or publicly supported the project.
ETHICAL
Projects have no negative social and economic impact in the communities they operate in.
CO-BENEFITS
Projects generate co-benefits, including biodiversity protection and positive social impact.
PORTFOLIO
Putting philanthropic dollars behind high-quality carbon removal projects.
